Card for a friend ...

It's sketch week over at Papertake Weekly, follow the current sketch or have a go at one of the older ones. I used the current sketch  #75 for my card and my card ... well it might just be my favourite card ever! Even better is that it was made for a very special and inspirational friend x  Special cards for special people are always the best don't you think?

I used:
More of the papers from this gorgeous digital kit and the script paper I dug out of my odds and ends box
Coloured my Magnolia with Copics and added extra sparkle with Stickles
All the flowery bits and bobs as well as the pleated satin, ivory rose organza, vintage style lace and ivory faux silk is from the Ribbon Girl shop
I inked all the edges with walnut ink and added even more stickles to make it super sparkly.
The little stick pin up at the top is a Tim Holtz pin, a perfect place to tie on a little scrap of pretty lace or ribbon - love those!

Well that's me done for now, not long until the weekend thank goodness and then only 2 more weeks at work and I have a week on holiday - hoorayyyyyy :)

Ribbon Girl Magnolia Only Challenge ...

There is a new challenge over at the Ribbon Girl blog today and it's the start of a new regular Magnolia Only challenge.

The challenge is to use ribbons and lace so nice and easy for the first challenge! There is a fabulous new Design Team to share their creations so please pop over to the blog to see who they are and what they've created to inspire you and see what the prizes are too ;)

I used lots of lovely goodies from the Ribbon Girl - vintage style laces, pearl bead trim, beaded swirl, gardenia flower and beaded berries, top stitch thread and stickles glitter glue
Pion papers from 3D Jean - I just got the new Pion Collection from there this week and can't wait to use it!
The birthday sentiment is spelled out with tiny alphabet stamps and everything has been inked with Distress Inks then glittered with more of the stickles

A Christening Card ...

Last week amongst all the snow we had up here we were supposed to be going to a Christening but as there was no way of getting the cars out of the street we were properly snowed in and so couldn't get there. This is the card I'd made for the little one who was the star of the day, it was such a shame that we couldn't celebrate the day with her

I used:
The most gorgeous digital papers from this digital kit by Kristin Cronin Barrow - her papers are always fabulous
Cheesecloth, lace, organza rose ribbon, pearl bead trim, stickles and decorative pins all from the Ribbon Girl
Walnut ink, spellbinders dies, letter stickers and that gorgeous golden plinky plonky stuff that I have in my stash

I'm entering this card into these challenges:
Midweek Magnolias - Anything Goes
Tilda's Town - Celebrate
CLP - Sketch
Inky Chicks - Bingo (ribbon, image, pearls)

Baby it's cold outside ...

... that's the challenge over at Papertake Weekly this week and it certainly was a challenge for me. I didn't want to make a Christmas card and all the wintry supplies I had looked too much like Christmas ... until I had a brainwave that if it was that cold outside then it would be frosty ... and sparkly! So today's card is a super sparkly card for a friends winter birthday

Faux diamante mesh and stardust stickles from Ribbon Girl
German glass glitter from 3D Jean
Digital papers from Lilly Bimble
